1.5 hour trips, the "Presidential Range Ride" 7-15 miles
Include hands on interaction with our dogs, involvement in harnessing and hook-up, learning commands, stories about our kennel & dogs ... or if you prefer, just going for a great dog sled ride! Get ready for incredible views of the White Mountains (we say our dogs have the best view in the valley) and beautiful trails. This ride is for families on vacation and couples that want "full immersion" in the world of dogsledding. See where the dogs live, interact with them in their home setting as the White Mountains tower over you in the distance and go for an amazing ride. This trail is perfect for kids to get on the back with the musher, shout commands and help drive the team! Typically the "educational component" lasts 20-30 minutes and the remaining 45-60 minutes is dogsled ride time... expect component times to vary widely as trail conditions and working with dogs always varies! Part of your experience will include time as well to thank and pet your team, (bring dog cookies if you desire) and interact with other dogs in the kennel.
Cost - $265 per sled for up to 2 people with a 325 pound weight limit*. To add one additional person while remaining under the weight limit it will be $38. We offer an option for a couple that wishes to ride together, but is over the weight limit of our traditional 8 dog 1.5 hour tours. This package utilizes our most experienced guides, a larger dog team, and more gear and costs $350 per sled. (2 person maximum for this option)
Muddy Paw Deals - Presidential Range Ride Shared Time:
One of our popular kennel based options, we offer the opportunity for your family to "split" the time with your 4 person group for a Presidential Range Ride. Instead of purchasing two sleds for a family of four, you can choose this cost cutting option to share the time by shortening each component and sharing your musher and team. One set of guests goes out on a shorter ride while the other guests remain back and then they swap. This shortens the ride time and family members are not all out on the trail at the same time, however it's a great cost cutting option. When utilizing the link online to schedule your own "shared time" experience, you must make a detailed note to us and check in with our staff to verify.
3 hour trips, the "Pond of Safety" adventure: 15-22 miles
All the hands on interaction of our kennel experiences, just five minutes up the road in the White Mountain National Forest. Experience breathtaking views, authentic trail, higher elevation, and a remote backwoods" feel. This trip was designed for couples and families that wanted to just get out into the deep woods and spend a great deal of time with their team/ride component of the experience. After a short hands on meet-n-greet and helping to harness your team, you will sprint off into the snow crusted winter wonderland along a beautiful rideline. If conditions allow, you may find yourself winding up to a place that feels like the top of the world, the Icy Gulch or you musher may choose to spirit you into the dense pines and winding trails below. Help drive the team when conditions and musher discretion allow or snuggle up in the sleeping bag and take in the nature that surrounds you. Always an adventure, we've seen moose, deer, evidence of bear and "Narnia-like" natural beauty in the White Mountain National Forest. As you wind up, up, up into the mountains, take a moment to turn around... you won't be the first or the last to gasp at the view that has opened up behind you! All trip times are highly approximate and vary quite widely based on trail conditions and your individual dog team for the day of your reservation... that's the best part about working with animals, it's always an adventure!
$350 per sled, 325lb. weight limit
